Terms of Service
Last updated August 10, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and comps.io (“comps”, “we”). By creating an account or using the site you accept them. We have tried to write them the way we write everything else here — plainly, and without promising more than the product does.
What comps is
comps is a tool for cataloguing trading cards and sealed products and tracking what they are worth over time. We are not a marketplace, a broker, a dealer, or an escrow service. We do not buy, sell, or hold cards for you, and we are not a party to any deal you make with anyone else.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 to have an account. Some features state a higher age requirement where they appear. Keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for what happens under your account.
Give us accurate information. One person, one account. You can close your account at any time by asking us.
Your data stays yours
The collection you build, the numbers you record, and the things you write are yours. We do not claim ownership of them. You give us only the permission we need to run the service — to store your data, show it back to you, and display the parts you have chosen to make public.
What you paid, what you sold for, and your profit are private by design and are never shown to anyone else. Public collection value is off unless you turn it on, and it shows current market value only — never your cost. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
Prices are estimates, not appraisals
This is the most important thing on this page.
Card values shown on comps come from third-party market data providers and from recent sales activity. They are estimates. They are not appraisals, not offers, not guarantees, and not financial advice. The real value of a card is whatever someone will actually pay for it on the day you sell it, which can be very different from any number on this site.
Data can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong — a provider can misreport, a card can be matched to the wrong listing, or a printing variant can be confused for another. We correct what we find, but we do not warrant that any figure is accurate. Do not make a buying, selling, insurance, or tax decision on our number alone.
Nothing on comps is investment advice, and we are not licensed to give any.
Credits
Some features are paid for with credits. Credits are a prepaid, promotional balance for use inside comps only. They are not money, not a stored-value or payment instrument, and not redeemable for cash. They cannot be transferred or sold, and they have no value outside the service.
Purchases are processed by Stripe. Credit purchases are final and non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. If something goes wrong with a charge, email us — we would rather sort it out than have you file a dispute.
What you post
You are responsible for what you post. Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or infringing; do not impersonate anyone; do not spam, scrape, scam, or promote a sale you cannot honour. Do not use comps to arrange anything illegal.
You keep ownership of what you post, and you give us permission to display and distribute it within the service. We can remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we will use our judgment about when to do that.
Using the service fairly
Please don’t scrape the site, hammer it with automated requests, try to break its security, resell our data, or reverse-engineer it. Our price data is licensed from providers and cannot be redistributed.
Advertising
comps shows ads to visitors who do not have an ad-free subscription. Some are booked directly with us; others are served by Google AdSense. An ad is not an endorsement, and we are not responsible for what an advertiser sells or claims. If a sponsored placement is paid for, it is marked as an ad.
Third-party services
comps links to and relies on other companies — market data providers, payment processing, email, hosting, and advertising. When you leave comps for another site, that site’s terms apply, not ours.
No warranty, and the limit of what we owe
comps is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any data in it is accurate. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for lost profits, or for a decision you made based on a price shown here. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.
Ending things
You can stop using comps and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or stop offering the service. If we close your account for a reason other than a breach by you, unused credits from a purchase can be discussed with us.
Changes and contact
If we change these terms we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters, we will say so rather than hoping you don’t notice. Continuing to use comps after a change means you accept it.
